Germany is a federation in Western Europe. The country has a very important economic and political position in Europe as well as in the world. With an area of 357,021 square kilometers, a population of about 82 million, and with 16 states, Germany is a key member of the European Union organization, a hub for the transportation of goods and services between countries in the region, and is the country with the third largest immigrant population in the world.
